Kids off Drugs
If I ever have a child, I will make sure he or she is open to talk to me and is comfortable bringing problems home. It is so important to let your children know that they can tell you anything and that you will be there to support them. Many parents these days try to judge their own kids and they do not support them when they go through tough times. I will be friendly to my kids so they want to spend more time at home rather than staying out with friends. Also it is helpful if parents know who their kids hang out with and where they normally spend their time at. Giving a little information about drugs and the consequences will help preventing our kids from using drugs. Most teenagers who are using drugs today have problems at home with their parents or they do not feel comfortable staying home with their family.

I couldn't agree more! Effective communication can usually stop problems before they start, or at least help to resolve existing problems. Being a proactive parent is also very important, it's usually pretty easy to spot problems if your aware of whats going on. I also agree with the last sentence, it seems a majority of psychological problems stem from a dysfunctional family life.
ReplyDeleteI think communication is key to fixing any problem and most likely preventing any problems. Judging your kids isn't going to fix any problem but it going to make the problem worse. Having a good bond with your kid is a good idea and will be helpful for you and your kid!

ReplyDeleteI think we should make our home a great place for children and monitor their friendship because alcohol use is most likely happen when kids are with their friends.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with what you last sentance said, Its what problems that the parents have at home is the main issue and it is so important to proved to help thoughs issues for our children and it so starts at the home and the parents.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%. Being open and making sure your parents will open up to you when they are going through a hard time is so important for them to understand...that no matter what you will always be there for them. And I also believe that many times kids do have trouble at home and that's why they start experimenting, kind of telling themselves, "oh well who cares". Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. Trust and communication are very important aspects in parenting.
ReplyDeleteI agree with open and honest communication with kids on all topics including drugs and alcohol especially before the teenage years. This will help prevent problems in the future. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that communication is definitely #1! Your child needs to know that no matter what you will love them, but disappointment is worse then anger if they do decide to try drugs. Parents sometimes are the real problem, like with divorce being so common these days. Great post.
