Music
I picked listening to music as my stress reduction technique because that is what I enjoy doing. I work a lot and have to deal with many people at work. By the time I get off work, I am stressed out and need to do something about it. There are many songs by my favorite artists that I can relate to and feel good while listening to them. In past I would try to eat chocolate to reduce my stress but that was not helpful since I gained a few pounds ;) Music helped me physically because every-time I listen to a song with a nice beat to it, I get up and dance. Also it has helped me emotionally because when I am sad or angry, a slow song will calm me down. Music also has helped me mentally because I am not thinking as much when I listen to music and it is very relaxing when I do not think. I will try to listen to music everyday to relax and feel good.
I agree with you , I listen to classic music, it is so helpful and it makes me calm down when I have stress and face problem in life.
ReplyDeleteGreat technique, I listen to music whenever possible, I feel that it not only relieves stress, but can also help to prevent it. Dancing is a great way to exercise which also alleviates stress! I can fully relate to the last part about clearing your mind, music helps me to focus on something positive and not obsess on some minor issue that in my head is a big problem.
ReplyDeleteMusic is such a good technique for relieving stress!! very good choice. :) haha yess chocolate probably isn't a good way to relieve stress and I don't think it is very healthy for you either, but every once in awhile probably isn't too bad for you! ;)

ReplyDeleteI loveeee music too to reduce my stress! It's like my escape from the world for a little bit. :) For me, music can really change my mood! I can listen to a good song and my sadness or anger will almost immediately start going away! :)
ReplyDeleteI think everyone can agree that music is a great way to help with stress! I love putting on music and dancing/singing/rocking out in my room when I've had a bad day!
ReplyDeleteSo true that the right song can change your emotional state. Life would be so boring without music. I'm an eclectic music lover/listener. I listen to different genres based on what I'm doing or how I'm feeling. If I need to clean I'll listen to salsa or cumbias to get me into action. If I'm taking a hot bath I'll put on some New Age or Meditation music. If I'm feeling romantic I'll play some Robin Thicke. Thank God for music!

ReplyDeleteI really love listening to music to relieve stress too! I didn't even think of this one when writing my post! There really is a certain song that I listen to when I get in specific moods, and it actually helps put me back either to a more calm or happier point on my life.
